LIFE IS LIKE A SEE-SAW.....

Life is like a see-saw. Sometimes you are at the top ladder where everything is working out your way, and sometimes you hit the rock bottom. The feeling is like that of a drowning man, desperately trying to clutch a straw to stay afloat. The struggle, desperation, helplessness can seem never ending.

I know what you are thinking.... nobody wants to read the gory stuff, let alone hear it. But we have to bite the bullet, don’t we?

It’s easy, right? To shove our feelings under the carpet, almost a taboo to talk of your problems. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s completely okay to talk about what you are going through. Your feelings are valid. Let nobody tell you otherwise.

But for that, you need to help yourself.

First, acknowledge that you have a problem. Living in denial helps no one.

(Just breathe).

Journaling is a great way to put those emotions down on paper. Write, just write, vent your emotions, jot them down. Nobody needs to read it. Tear the paper, burn it down, just get it out of your system. Do it every day.

You are alive and kicking, that itself is a great blessing. Close your eyes and think of three things at least for which you are grateful for, even if at the moment you don’t feel grateful - fake it till you make it.

Meditation is a great tool to keep your mind focused. You don’t have to listen to anything. Just sit still and close your eyes, even if it’s for five minutes. Be aware of your thoughts, don’t resist them. A quiet mind is more productive.

Repeating positive affirmations, “All is well”, “I can do this!” This works wonders with our brain and heart. There is a lot of power in the spoken word. Be sure to use the positive ones.

Reach out to family, friend, workmate, help groups or anyone who will hear you out. It’s important to be heard. Remember you are important, special, worthy. Every one has a purpose in this life, you are here for a reason.

Last, but not the least, God does not burden a soul more that it can bear. Every challenge, situation, problem strengthens you.

“If pain must come, may it come quickly. Because I have a life to live, and I need to live it in the best way possible. If he has to make a choice, may he make it now. Then I will either wait for him or forget him.”
― Paulo Coelho,
By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept

“It may look as if the situation is creating the suffering, but ultimately this is not so - your resistance is.” - Eckhart Tolle“

“It’s all about finding the calm in the chaos.” — Donna Karan

Like I said, life is like a see-saw. In no time you will be all smiles, this too shall pass....
